Météo- has placed two departments on orange alert for rain-flooding and thunderstorms this Friday, November 8, 2024. These are Aude and Hérault. Vigilance will take place from 6 p.m.

The meteorological institute plans “sometimes stormy rain in Languedoc-Roussillon, which can occasionally cause intense precipitation in a short time”. “This Friday at the end of the day and during the night from Friday to Saturday, thunderstorms, sometimes strong and accompanied by heavy rain, break out in the Gulf of Lion, particularly from the east of Aude to Hérault, on the coast and in the interior”, adds Météo France.

Rainfall accumulations of up to 80 to 120 mm, and locally up to 150 to 180 mm are expected. The advice in the event of an orange alert for these two types of bad weather is to move away from watercourses, not to take a submerged road, to move away from trees and watercourses, to stay sheltered and keep informed of developments in the situation.

The episode has not yet started this Friday at 10 a.m., the time at which the vigilance was announced.
