A gas leak broke out this Friday, November 8, around 7:40 a.m., in the CPAM de la Haute-Vienne building located on avenue Jean Gagnant in Limoges. An intervention by the Haute-Vienne fire brigade and the Limoges police is underway.
The street was partially closed for safety reasons. Traffic is severely disrupted in the area, at the intersection with Avenue de Locarno and Rue Donzelot where the Bénédictins elementary school is located. Traffic is also slowed down on avenue des Casseaux.
The intervention would not have required any evacuation of nearby buildings and homes. The gas leak was repaired around 8:30 a.m., but emergency services are still on site. The security perimeter should be lifted around 10 a.m. and traffic restored immediately.
