Counterfeiting is plaguing the fashion industry. It is not just any model that is popular with counterfeiters. This is the Zebra model with the zebra stripes, hence the name, which are proudly displayed alongside the “SPLY-350” inscriptions. What is very surprising is that 10 years after the appearance of this iconic sneaker, it still remains the most victim of counterfeiting. In this report, StockX estimates that more than 400,000 products will be rejected from its platform in 2023. These are models suspected of being counterfeit, of course, but also products showing signs of wear or even a quality defect. …For a total value of nearly $85 million.
