Algeria Football– Sports journalist Farid Maataoui, a fervent defender of Belmadi, expressed his dissatisfaction with the choices of the coach of the Algerian national team, Vladimir Petkovic, during his analysis of the latest calls for the Algerian team. According to Maataoui, Petkovic seems to constantly reuse the same selection principles as those of his predecessor, Djamel Belmadi, which does not reflect any real innovation in the management of the team.
“Each time, Petkovic reuses the Belmadi component. He therefore comes to his senses,” declared Maataoui, implying that, despite the speeches and the changes, the current coach is not moving away from the philosophy put in place by Belmadi.
In addition, Maataoui expressed his perplexity about the call of the young player Chiakha, an Algerian striker playing in Denmark, but who is not even among the club’s starters. “When you leave a fit Belaili to bring back a young player like Chiakha who doesn’t even play in Denmark, supposedly to support him after he chose Algeria, is that the logic of football? ”, added the journalist. It appears that Maataoui is questioning the logic behind certain selections, suggesting that decisions like these are not always in line with on-the-ground realities.
These comments echo a general dissatisfaction among certain observers regarding the management of Petkovic and his choices for the future of the Algerian team.
