A teenager is on trial from this Tuesday, June 11, 2024 by the Epinal children’s court. He is suspected of having killed little Rose, 5 years old, on April 25, 2023 in Rambervillers (Vosges). The child’s body was discovered naked in a trash bag shortly after he was reported missing. At the microphone of BFMTVhis parents explained that they expected a lot from this trial: “Let justice be done”asks Rose’s mother.
Parents demand the truth
“Every child has something special, and he took that from us”, also confides the bruised mother. Aged 15 at the time of the events, the young boy accused admitted to having lured the little girl to his home, claiming to want to show her a kitten. He then allegedly held the child’s head underwater in the bathtub. Traces of semen were found on Rose’s clothes but the teenager denies having raped her.
“I’m waiting for him to tell us exactly what he could have done to our daughter, how he did it and why. For us, it’s important to know the truth.”entrusts the father to Vosges Morning. “I’m afraid that he will look us in the face and play with our pain, as he has done until now. That he will brag about what he has done and tell us more stories as he took my daughter from me in front of my house”fears the mother.
An inevitable risk of recurrence
But Rose’s parents also want an exemplary sentence and are already wondering about the future of the alleged murderer. “Because before he is 35, he will come out of prison… We don’t want other families to experience what we experienced”declares the father.

Rose’s loved ones are worried about the teenager’s psychiatric profile. According to BFMTV, he would not have expressed any remorse or regret in front of the experts who questioned him. He reportedly explained that he had been looking for prey to drown for several days and did not panic when he took the act. “The six psychiatrists write that he is perverse, that he is sadistic, that there is a criminological danger, and that the risk of recidivism is inevitable” declares Stéphane Giurana, lawyer for Rose’s family.
Involved in other affairs
The teenager was already sentenced in March to three years in prison, one of which was suspended, by the Epinal children’s court for rape and sexual assault on two minors. Facts prior to Rose’s death. Placed in a closed educational center outside the department for a year after these events, the young man then returned to live with his mother in Rambervillers, shortly before the murder of the little girl.
He is also the subject of another complaint for acts of rape and sexual assault committed in February 2022. A preliminary investigation is still underway on this subject. His trial for Rose’s murder takes place behind closed doors, far from the cameras. He faces 20 years of criminal imprisonment.
