The Toulon public prosecutor’s office has opened a judicial investigation for failure to assist a person in danger and involuntary homicide, after the death of a young patient, Lucas, in the Hyères emergency room.

A judicial investigation was opened last April by the Toulon public prosecutor’s office after the death in 2023 of a young patient, Lucas, in the Hyères emergency room, we learned Le Figaro with the Toulon prosecutor, confirming initial information from Var-Matin.
Manslaughter
A judicial investigation was opened for charges of failure to assist a person in danger and manslaughter. The parents of Lucas, who died in his hospital bed (in the corridors of the establishment) at only 25 years old from septic shock at two o’clock in the morning on the 1stis October 2023, filed a complaint last December against the Var hospital and its director. Their son was admitted on September 30, 2023 around 4 p.m. for severe stomach pain, accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea.
According to their lawyer, questioned at the time by Le Figarothis death would be the consequence of a series of negligence, from his admission to the emergency room, in an understaffed hospital.
