Since Monday and until Friday, the joint union of aquatic environments and rivers, in collaboration with an insurer specializing in risk prevention, is carrying out awareness-raising operations with students in four municipalities, from CE1 to CM2.

A model called “Hey the sea is rising”, to raise awareness of climate change; a treasure hunt, “Aukooran”, to educate on the attitude to maintain in a town located in a flood zone; an animated model simulating a flood in a house; Kicetoo, a quiz on flooding and risk management; and finally Exp'eau, an exhibition to learn everything about the flood risk in the Aude and Berre and Rieu watersheds. These are the five tools which allow the mixed union of aquatic environments and rivers (Smmar) of Aude to carry out action this week aimed at the school public.

A meeting scheduled as part of the “Rain Flood” campaign, in partnership with Calyxis, a resource and expertise center dedicated to the prevention of personal risks. Since Monday, and until Friday November 8, around a hundred CE1, CE2, CM1 and CM2 students from the schools of Montséret, Fabrezan, Canet d'Aude and Lézignan-Corbières are taking advantage of two hours of workshops to sharpen their skills. good behavior to adapt in the event of flooding.

A Smmar/Calyxis collaboration, with the support of Assurance Prévention, the non-profit association of French insurers, developed as part of “Insurers' Week”, in addition to the educational program carried out by Smmar on the school year 2024-2025 in 32 schools, from primary to middle school. A commitment intended to acculturate the inhabitants of the watershed to the various flood risks, from a very young age, in order to teach them the right reflexes, to repeat them, to be able to remember them and use them in times of crisis. These days, also made possible by the partnership with the associations C’est ma nature and Etang d’ and funding from the EU, the State, the Water Agency, the Region and the Department, are finally an opportunity to give children a communication kit on the right reflexes to adopt in the event of heavy rain and flooding.
