This decision to dismiss these officials from their positions comes at the end of a series of consecutive visits made by the Minister of Transport, Rachid Amri, to Tunis Carthage airport, including that of November 2, during which, he noted failures recorded at the levels of supply services, aircraft safety and equipment, adds the same source.
Urgent rescue plan and medium-term restructuring
The Minister of Transport, Rachid Amri, also ordered the development, as soon as possible, of an action plan including an urgent rescue plan and a medium-term restructuring plan for the national carrier Tunisair.
This action plan also provides, according to a press release from the Ministry of Transport, a new governance plan adapted to the needs of the company, the acceleration of the amendment of the legislative texts in force to improve the competitiveness of Tunisair and the rationalization of human resources to guarantee them the required efficiency.
It is also about improving the quality of services and placing the regularity of flights as a main objective and updating crisis management measures, in particular, with regard to anticipation, supervision , intelligence and “precise and transparent” information.
The Minister of Transport also gave instructions to develop the “corporate communication” component within the company according to the delicate circumstances it is going through. He also ordered to put in place a renovated information system allowing the company to avoid confusion and uncertainty for travelers and other stakeholders.
Preserving the sustainability of the national carrier
The Ministry of Transport indicated, to this end, that it “is closely and continuously monitoring the situation of the company in coordination with the general management of Tunisiair, and that other measures will follow the decisions currently taken.”
