With his solo album “Recommence-moi” which is very successful, Santa could well represent France at Eurovision. She confides about this.
Santa is particularly known for her hit song “Salted Popcorn”, which would certainly have had every chance at Eurovision. But is the singer ready to embark on this adventure? At the microphone of Purechartsshe left the mystery hanging:
“You know, I’m from Nice, every morning, I saw the horizon so I keep the horizon of possibilities completely open”.
However, she gives a slightly clearer opinion to our colleagues at 20 minutes :
“I like this idea of a challenge, but not too much of a competition because it’s geopolitical and unfortunately, Eurovision is sometimes less a song that is judged than an international situation. But when I participate, I like to win”.
According to Santa, “you must already have a good song” to embark on the Eurovision adventure. She recognizes:
“I think that in my case, it’s a little premature because I have to present myself before representing France”.
The artist considers that she must wait a little longer. She keeps :
“I am very proud to be French, moreover, I do not leave the monopoly of patriotism to the fascists. But you still have to embody something powerful, and that’s not yet my case. You have to wear the colors proudly. Proud, I am, even if it’s a complex term, but you have to be much more popular, I think”.
Will she be in the running for Eurovision 2025? Only the future will tell us !
Santa makes a splash
The bet was won for the singer Santa: she caused a sensation with her first solo album “Recommence-moi”, which entered third in the French charts, with 13,000 sales in two weeks. But it is certainly his ballad, “Salted Popcorn” which is the highlight of this record, since it has been listened to more than 100 million times around the world. She explains, gratefully:
“For a song that came out of my room, and which should not see the light of day or at least not fall into ears other than mine, it is a delight. And when I receive all these messages, it’s a whirlwind of joy. Of course, you shouldn’t be hypocritical when you release a song, you always hope that it will meet its audience, but it’s something that is beyond me, and it’s nice”.
And this bodes well for many good things to come!
