The families of Israeli hostages in Gaza declared on Saturday that “the only way to free their children detained in the Gaza Strip is to conclude an exchange agreement with the Palestinian factions.”

This was revealed at a press conference by families of detainees in Gaza, after the Israeli army freed four hostages in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip earlier on Saturday.

A relative of the prisoners told the conference, monitored by Anadolu: “There are still 120 prisoners dying in Gaza, and the only way to bring them all back is to conclude an exchange agreement.”

“We are on the verge of reaching an agreement and we must not miss this opportunity,” said another close to the detainees.

“So far, a number of detainees have been released in several operations, but under the agreement we will be able to release more than 100 detainees. Accept the deal, agree to end the war and save lives,” she said.

The Israeli army launched a “large-scale and unprecedented offensive” on Saturday against the Nusseirat refugee camp and different areas of the Gaza Strip.

In a brief statement published on X, the army of the Jewish state indicated that its troops had launched an offensive against “infrastructure” in the Nusseirat region.

For its part, the private Hebrew daily Yediot Aharonot described Tel Aviv’s large-scale offensive against the Palestinian camp of Nusseirat as “unprecedented.”

The Israeli media “Wala” also indicated that Israeli military aircraft shelled the town of Deir al-Balah and the Nusseirat camp, while the Israeli Navy bombarded the peripheral areas of Gaza City.

In the early hours of Saturday, different sectors of the Palestinian enclave were shelled by the Jewish state army.

Since October 7, Israel has been waging an all-out war in the Gaza Strip which has left more than 120,000 civilian victims (between dead and wounded), mostly children and women, and nearly 10,000 people missing in a context of famine and massive destruction, according to Palestinian and UN data.
