It's now official! After several days of speculation, the club management has chosen its new coach to succeed the Portuguese Miguel Cardoso. The blood and gold club is now banking on the experience and tenacity of Romanian technician Laurențiu Reghecampf, who today signed a contract until June 2026.

At 49 years old, Reghecampf arrives with a rich career both as a player and a coach. Trained in Romania, he distinguished himself in the ranks of Steaua Bucharest, before exporting to Germany where he played with FC Cottbus and Alemannia Aachen. Back in Romania, he began his coaching career at his favorite club, Steaua Bucharest, with whom he won two league titles. This great success opened the doors to the Gulf for him, where he coached renowned teams such as Al Hilal (finalist of the AFC Champions League in 2014), Al Ahli and Al Taï recently in Saudi Arabia as well as Al- Wahda and Al-Wasl in the Emirates.

For this new mission with Espérance, Reghecampf will be accompanied by experienced staff. His deputy, Skander Kasri, will be assisted by Dino Viorel, also Romanian, in technical assistance missions. Physical trainer Bogdan Merisanu and goalkeeper coach Dan Zdranca also join the adventure, thus completing high-level technical support.

With the arrival of this determined staff, the club hopes to regain positive momentum and achieve its ambitious objectives, both nationally and continentally. The blood and gold family welcomes them and wishes them every success in leading Esperance to new heights.
