The AI-powered screenshot management application that Google has integrated into the Pixel 9 will be updated to feature new features.
Barely released on the Pixel 9, the Pixel Screenshots application is about to benefit from a very important update. If you missed an episode, Google unveiled a new application dedicated to managing screenshots during its “Made by Google” conference which took place a few weeks ago.
Initially reserved for Pixel 9 only, the application which relies on Google's artificial intelligence to help you easily find your screenshots, is intended to be deployed soon on old Pixel smartphones. But before that, Google is reportedly preparing a very important update introducing new features.
An update full of new features
Android Authoritywho has made a habit of dissecting the APK installation files of certain applications, has made some interesting discoveries about Pixel Screenshots. Google is in fact preparing a major update of the application, barely three months after its release on the Pixel 9. Google is therefore working on improving certain elements of the interface, start with the home screen, whose layout could evolve to directly display all screenshots. Above all, the user would have the possibility to personalize the organization of this page.
New tactile gestures would also be inaugurated. It would thus be possible to select several screenshots at once much more quickly by holding down your finger then dragging it to select the screenshots. A new option would also be integrated to rename Collections in the application.
Pixels Screenshots could also see the arrival of two new Gallery and Camera shortcuts. Thanks to them, you can quickly add images to the Pixels Screenshots application, directly from the application's home screen. Google would also plan to integrate these two shortcuts into the context menu which is displayed by keeping your finger pressed on the application icon.
Finally, Google is reportedly working on new options allowing users to easily extract email addresses and phone numbers detected in screenshots to add them to the address book, send an email or initiate a phone call. If all these new features seem to be still being tested in the application for the time being, no date for their possible deployment in a stable version of the application is currently known.
