Two years after becoming vice-champion of France, Nathalie Riquet again won a silver medal but this time at France aesthetic competition (international online championship), on May 7, in the “powdered eyebrows” category.

On the shelf in her cabin, the dermo-esthetician based at Pradet displays her trophies, proof of her professionalism. The latest one is therefore that of France aesthetic competition: “This is THE online competition, the only one that is serious. Jurors are experts.”explains Nathalie proudly.

Presentation in the United Arab Emirates

Among two hundred participants and after six months of preparation, she managed to climb to second place in the “Powder bros” category, a permanent makeup technique.pixelated and degraded”, where the emphasis is on finesse and detail. “Before, it was a blur. Now, with a clean technique, it’s natural”, confides the one who launched into permanent makeup five years ago.

Nathalie Riquet specifies that her titles give her credibility: “People see that I am vice-champion of France, they have confidence”, she says. His new title even opened the doors to the United Arab Emirates for him. In October, she will present at the Dubai World Championship.

Ex-firefighter

In 2019, after more than fifteen years of career as a firefighter, Nathalie Riquet began her career path towards permanent makeup.

It was during training that she discovered permanent makeup. She, who has always loved painting, can highlight her artistic side.

Permanent makeup for eyebrows, lips, eyes and scalp, facial treatments: the services offered by Nathalie are numerous.

In addition to his trophies, the twenty diplomas hanging in the corridor of his living room attest to the quality of his services. “I invest a lot in training, I do three per year”she says.

Delighted with her first international recognition, this learning addict expresses her concerns about the lack of professionalism in her profession.

“90% of permanent makeup in France is poorly doneattests the professional. It’s an unregulated profession.”explains Nathalie, adding that 70% of her work consists of correcting botched tattoos.

“I saw dramatic things”

“To start, you just need to complete the hygiene and sanitation training. So, anyone can do it”, confides the beautician. According to her, this lack of regulation represents a danger: “There are some who do irreversible things, I have seen dramatic things”she laments.

For “overcome the problems and revalue the profession which is going down the drain”she admits to having started providing training herself.

“For me, it is necessary that there be training in one year. With the same program as the aesthetic CAP and modules in pigmentology and colorimetry. It seems essential to me because it is a real profession”she insists.

Pradétane shares her concerns with two other permanent makeup specialists. It is in this sense that three months ago, they became members of the national office of the National Artisanal Confederation of Beauty Institutes and Spas.

These training courses do not allow professionals like Nathalie to benefit from maximum credibility: “That’s why I continue the competitions”she says.

Next step for Nathalie: the semi-finals of the world championships in Morocco.
