Nicole Lefrançois and Michel Gagné will act as honorary presidents of the 20th edition of the Charlevoix Triathlon, which will be held from July 5 to 7.

Ms. Lefrançois was behind the creation of the Charlevoix Triathlon in 2003 with the help of a team of volunteers, a team with whom she had organized the Terry Fox race (10 km from Charlevoix) for many years previously. The sportswoman dreamed of an event with the aim of creating activity at Lake Nairne while bringing local residents to discover a little-known sport. She succeeded in having the Triathlon recognized at the provincial level, supports the organization in a press release.

A native of La Malbaie, Michel Gagné is a triathlete and a recognized event organizer. He was an advisor for the Charlevoix Triathlon for many years. Also honorary president in 2010, he was able to give momentum to the event with his wife Francine Amyot. The following years saw steady growth for athlete participation.
