Two new versions of the plug-in hybrid Audi A3 will join the ranks of the compact car catalog in 2025, all with an electric range exceeding 100 km.
Audi is enriching the range of its A3 Sportback with the arrival in dealerships of two “new” plug-in hybrid versions. Equipped with a 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine associated with an electric unit, these new A3 Sportback TFSI e are offered with powers ranging from 204 to 272 horsepower. Their autonomy in electric mode now reaches 141 kmat maximum, according to the WLTP cycle.
Two hybrid versions with improved performance
The new Audi A3 Sportback 40 TFSI e offers power of 204 horsepower and 350 Nm of torquewith a top speed of 225 km/h and a 0 to 100 km/h time of 7.4 seconds. For its part, the Audi A3 Sportback 45 TFSI is developing 272 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Its maximum speed is announced at 237 km/h, with 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. Both models are equipped with a six-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. In 100% electric mode, both models can travel up to 140 km/h.
Both cars include a lithium-ion battery with a nominal capacity of 25,7 kWh (19.7 kWh usable), allowing them to achieve an autonomy in electric mode of 127 to 141 km for the 40 TFSI e modeland 125 to 129 km for the 45 TFSI e model.
The first Audi plug-in hybrid with fast charging
One of the strong points of these new versions is their recharging system. Indeed, the A3 TFSI e is Audi's first plug-in hybrid to be equipped with direct current (DC) chargingin addition to alternating current (AC) charging. In alternating current, the charging power is 11 kW, allowing the battery to be fully recharged in 2.5 hours. In direct current, with a power of 50 kW, the battery can go from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes. Audi also announced the future marketing of the A3 Allstreet in PHEV version.
Regarding prices, the 40 TFSI e version starts from 47 900 euros in France in Design finish, and 55 900 euros in 45 TFSI e version and S Line finish.
