Starting 17th on the starting grid, Max Verstappen made a crazy comeback to win the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix. The three-time world champion took advantage of the changing weather conditions and racing events to win and thus widen the lead. gap in the drivers' standings over Lando Norris, poleman but only 6th at the finish.
This completely crazy Formula 1 Grand Prix also smiled on the French, since Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly both reached the podium. Well placed when heavy rain fell on the Interlagos circuit, the Alpine drivers took advantage of the opportunity to lead the race for a long time and finally finished 2nd and 3rd. A great first for French F1, which had not placed two drivers on the same podium since the 1997 Spanish GP (Olivier Panis 2nd, Jean Alési 3rd).
Also note in this 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix the abandonment of Carlos Sainz, which does not do Ferrari's business in the constructors' standings. Earlier in the race, and even before it started, Lance Stroll went off the track following a controversial maneuver.
