The Alizée Speed sand yachting club held its general meeting at the La Hemnota hall in Biscarrosse-Plage, under the presidency of Benoît Feur. The club has 35 members and participated, with many children each time, in the Forum of Associations, the beach parties, the Telethon and the Easter celebrations, a sign of great vitality.
Bertrand Christeaut presented the organization of Alizée Speed's 13 runs this season. The inclement weather made conditions of access to the beaches difficult, because the storms, which caused strong tides eroding the base of the dune, and the subsequent re-silting endangered the practice of sand yachting. This is why the fallback solution focused on the Lagoon at La Teste-de-Buch.
The ban on driving in front of the Twin Houses at low tide in Biscarrosse poses a problem when the only open access is that of the South beach, although no risk exists for practitioners as long as they drive on the lower part of the beach. the beach. Motivating this refusal, Dominique Miniau, municipal elected official, explained that safety always prevails, the opportunity to remind the members of Alizée Speed to be careful and that at least two tanks should ride together.
Promote club spirit
Dominique Villenave took stock of the equipment. Two brand new “MC2s” were acquired. To date, Alizée Speed has 12 tanks and 5 “Ludics”. This will encourage rotations by allowing members to ride more frequently. Those responsible are pleased to have doubled the number of maintenance sessions this year thanks to the group of handymen who maintain and repair the sand yachts.
The idea of traveling to other riding locations in regional clubs was adopted. The question of personal and equipment insurance is being studied in the case of exchanges and technical loans between clubs.
Finally, the training of members was raised through the prism of security and the integration of the rules for controlling and driving tanks, as well as maintaining the club spirit in mutual aid, kindness and sharing of resources. knowledge and skills between velica riders.
