After 54 years of marriage, Marie-José (née Merlevede) and Denis Lambert did not just celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. Even though it had already been canceled twice due to Covid 19, they were perseverant and wanted to go before the mayor again, in this case Cécile Lumello, first deputy of Bassillac-et-Auberoche. Originally from a small village in the north of France, the two lovebirds met in 1965 at a funfair. They never left each other and were married in 1970 in Hondschoot. Denis had a career as an executive in the Usinor company, while Marie-José was an executive secretary in a tire factory before deciding to end her professional career to take full care of her children. Indeed, three children are the fruit of their union: Jean-Charles (born in 1974), Cyril (born in 1980) and Marielle (born in 1981). Upon retirement, the happy grandparents of eight grandchildren aged 5 to 23 decided to follow their son Cyril to the Dordogne, while Marielle headed to Toulouse. Looking for a more comfortable climate and a peaceful environment, they settled in Trélissac in 2016 before joining Bassillac in September 2023.
