Around thirty firefighters put out a fire which broke out Friday afternoon inside the Metro grocery store located in the Les Galeries shopping center in Trois-Pistoles.
Firefighters responded to put out a fire that started in the generator room located in the grocery store’s warehouse.
No one was injured, but the mall had to be completely evacuated Friday afternoon due to the fire.
We are in control of the situation. We are working to ensure that there are no more hot spots
explains the director of the Trois-Pistoles Fire Department, Raphaël Bastille.
Mr. Bastille indicates that the firefighters are also working to ventilate the building. It caused smoke in the shopping center premises. There will be good ventilation in the building to be able to reintegrate other businesses
he explains.
Mr. Bastille cannot specify at this time when merchants and citizens will have access to the shopping center again.
The fire department will conduct an investigation to try to determine the cause of the fire.
