The MotoGP riders are on the Sepang circuit, Malaysia, for the penultimate round of the 2024 World Championship. Francesco Bagnaia starts from pole position.

Advantage to Jorge Martín

All the drivers start with the soft tire at the front and the medium tire at the rear, while the rain begins to slowly creep in on certain portions of the circuit. The white flag is displayed at the start of the warm-up lap, allowing the riders to return to the pits to change bikes.

Jorge Martín takes the lead of the race from the first meters, followed by Francesco Bagnaia, Marc Márquez, Enea Bastianini and Alex Márquez. Quickly, the three drivers in the lead escaped. At the end of the first lap, Franco Morbidelli overtook Alex Márquez before Gresini driver Ducait took over. Franco Morbidelli lost many places in the middle of the second lap, which benefited Fabio Quartararo, Brad Binder and Jack Miller.

Francesco Bagnaia fell on the third lap of the race, at turn 9. Behind, Franco Morbidelli took 6th place in the race while Pedro Acosta entered the points. Nicolas Goyon explains on the French broadcaster that the Spanish rider does not seem comfortable with the bike. On the 8th lap, Johann Zarco saw his bike spewing smoke and gave up.

Victory went to Jorge Martín ahead of Marc Márquez and Enea Bastianini. Behind the three drivers on the podium, we find Alex Márquez, Fabio Quartararo, Franco Morbidelli, Brad Binder and Jack Miller, who resisted Pedro Acosta's attacks until the end of the race.

To be crowned 2024 MotoGP World Champion, Jorge Martín must score nine points more than Francesco Bagnaia during the Malaysian Grand Prix.
