A manhunt is underway in Saskatchewan connected to a deadly shooting Wednesday morning in Niverville.
According to Manitoba RCMP, an adult male died in relation to an officer-involved shooting. It happened sometime before 3 am in front of the Shell gas station and Tim Hortons restaurant.
There is a large police presence in the area of Drovers Run in Niverville. Police say that area will be blocked off for a large portion of the day.
This is an investigation involving RCMP and Winnipeg Police Service. At 5:42 Wednesday morning, Manitoba RCMP indicated that one female was in custody and that one male had fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.
There is also a Winnipeg Police Service vehicle on the side of Highway 59 at the Provincial Road 305 intersection. It has bullet holes in the front windshield. RCMP says this is connected to the Niverville shooting.
Meanwhile, Saskatchewan RCMP have confirmed that they are working to locate the suspect who fled from the shooting in Niverville and an incident in Winnipeg. RCMP says the suspect vehicle is believed to be traveling westbound along Highway 22, possibly to the Fort Qu’Appelle area. Fort Qu’Appelle is about 75 kilometers northeast of Regina.
Police say the suspect is 29-year-old David Burling. It is believed that he is driving a green 2016 Subaru Crosstrek with Manitoba license LJB 238. He is described as 5’2″ and weighing 190 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes.
Residents in that area are asked to use deposit. Police say motorists should not be picking up hitchhikers there and that suspicious persons should not be approached.
Police urge residents to ensure their homes and vehicles are locked and to report suspicious persons, emergencies or information to 911.

Manitoba RCMP and Winnipeg police have been at the scene on Drovers Run in Niverville since 3 am As a result, the street has been shut down and is expected to remain closed for most of the day.
Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to avoid the area.
