Banana Spleen: what is their secret?

Neuvy. Banana Spleen: what is their secret? Will they reveal, on November 11, at the Grange de Corgenay the secret of their longevity? It has been more than 40 years since the group was created, in 1978 with Guy Dauchat, Jean-Guy Cognet, joined by Guy Adda and Emmanuel Marinier. After the latter's departure, Thierry Smith and finally Olivier Delmat joined the group, bringing brass and keyboards. And Jean-Michel Maquet and Michel Desroches are there to ensure the technique.

In 1987 and 1988, they were selected to participate in the Printemps de , the second year as a discovery for Auvergne, a great moment of recognition in the world of French song and rock. However, each continued their journey professional, but music has always been more than a hobby for them, a shared passion.

How can we also explain the loyalty of spectators, who like to come and return to see and listen to them? “It’s an enigma,” says Jean-Guy Cognet.

In any case, Banana Spleen seeks to make people laugh or smile but they are recognized as musicians, with elaborate arrangements and original songs. They decided from the start not to do covers with this formation. They draw from the Roaring Quarantine repertoire and we will probably have to wait a little longer for some spicy new songs.

Each year, part of the public discovers Banana Spleen while the other part follows them faithfully. It's a completely free group and their concerts are good for the ears and test the zygomatics. The play on words abounds and you have to catch them on the fly, to the rhythm of rock'n roll. So why deprive yourself of it? It's simply about sharing a moment of pleasure with the musicians. The Corgenay meeting, on November 11, has become unmissable and it is advisable to book.
