The firefighters were called at 4 p.m., Friday November 1, 2024, route de Veulettes, for a fire starting at the Cany-Barville swimming pool (Seine-Maritime).
A burning smell was noted coming from the locker rooms.
Four employees and ten members of the public had to evacuate the premises. The 14 people were directed to a victim collection point and are all unharmed.
After reconnaissance and detection with the thermal camera, no hot spot was discovered. The public has returned to the changing rooms and the swimming pool remains closed.
“The technical team will carry out checks of the installation before returning it to service,” report the firefighters.
The cause sought
For this intervention, four engines and ten firefighters were mobilized.
The installations were quickly made safe, and Enedis carried out the search for the causes. The municipal authority and the gendarmerie also went to the scene.
