More than 200 dead in the Valencia region alone
The most significant damage is concentrated in the Valencia region, where the number of deaths is also the highest: 202 deaths. During what is considered the floods of the century in this region of Spain, torrents were unleashed in the towns.
Mud covers the streets, fields and roads, while abandoned vehicles crash on top of each other all over Valencia and its surroundings, even on the highways. If the red alert has ended up being lifted, the orange alert remains activated in the Valencia region, Andalusia, Aragon, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.
