Established in 2014 on Place du Martray, in Lanvollon, the Chérel bakery moved to Place du Marché au Blé in 2019. Faced with the economic situation, those responsible for this family business had to resolve to close at the end of May 2023. Since then, the premises have been put up for sale by the former owners and the municipality is offering its help in the search for a new baker. The mayor, Alain Sapin explains his approach.

“An essential business in a town”

“The town hall does not invest financially but can be a facilitator of the recovery project. A bakery is an essential business in a town, especially for the elderly, and a driving force for other businesses found nearby, florists, hair salons, restaurants, cafes. The premises are spacious and functional; they include a sales area, a ventilated oven, three cold rooms, equipment, dough mixers, mixers, and storage spaces, etc. The work tool is ready to operate with development potential to be exploited, by adding a snacking offer. It is an establishment with a very good turnover, located on a busy road, at the crossroads of the Guingamp – Lanvollon – Plouha – Saint-Quay-Portrieux roads. The premises are offered for sale or rental. Large accommodation is available upstairs. Finding someone for this bakery and pastry shop would be structuring for the city center. Parking spaces will soon be reserved for minute stops. The rest of the parking lot is in the blue zone. This is not always respected and it is possible that vehicle owners may be fined. »
