MANOKWARY – Police officers in Manokwari City Resort, West Papua revealed the intellectual players in a premeditated murder case against Yahya Sayori, a state civilian apparatus of the Arfak Mountains Regency Government. Manokwari, Kompol Agustina Sineri, said that SM was the mastermind of a premeditated murder by promising to pay money to the executioners.The suspect SM was arrested by the police criminal investigation unit team of Manokwari while in Ukemboisi village, Tanah Rubuh district, on May 29, 2024 at around 12:00 WIT. “SM is the main perpetrator who wrote the planned murder of Yahya Sayori,” Agustina said during ‘a press conference on the disclosure of the case at Mapolresta Manokwari, Antara, Wednesday, June 5. Agustina explained that SM’s arrest was a development of the results of the police investigators’ examination of five people who had were named as suspects in the murder, namely the initials YU, SU, MT, SS and NI. Based on SM’s confession, the murder was influenced by revenge because Yahya Sayori’s victim did not realize the presence of pig animals and oriental fabric which had been promised before. “The motive is revenge so that SM can pay some of the perpetrators to kill the victims,” said Sineri.Kasatreskrim Polresta Manokwari AKP Raja Putra Napitupulu added that after arresting six perpetrators of murders, including intellectual actors, its staff is still looking for four other people involved in the case. The police pocketed the identities of two of the four perpetrators. “The organization that became the mastermind of the assassination of the victim of Yahya Sayori is also an ASN of the Manokwari Regency Government as well as the chairman of the LMA of the Arfak Mountains,” said Napitupulu.In this case, the suspect YU played a role in hitting the victim’s head with a bullet, SU played the role in holding the victim’s leg, MT played the role in hitting the victim’s leg with wood, SS played the role by marking the victim’s legs and NI was also involved in hitting the victim. The five perpetrators claimed to have been ordered by MM to kill the lives of the victims in exchange for varying fees, which are 3 million rupees, 5 million rupees and 10 million rupees, depending on their respective roles. The murder planned by the ASN, the government of the Arfak Mountains, was revealed after local police made developments on the discovery of Yahya Sayori’s body at Gunung Tables Tourism Park, Manokwari on April 23, 2024. The day before, the victim was reported to have gone missing while searching with 16 others . The victim’s families suspected that there were uncertainties in the incident, so they made a police report to conduct an autopsy on the victim’s body.
