Yesterday, Old Trafford hosted the first match of Manchester United post-Erik ten Hag. Ruud van Nistelrooy was present as head coach on a temporary basis. For this first, the Red Devils challenged Leicester.
The team appeared liberated, even scoring five goals. Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes both scored twice, while Alejandro Garnacho made it 2-0 at the half-hour mark.

Five minutes later, Leicester still reduced the score thanks to Bilal El Khanouss. Arriving from Genk for just over 20 million, the Moroccan international scored his first goal for the Foxes, taking advantage of a ball not ideally boxed by the Mancunian goalkeeper to adjust an uncrossed shot via the post (2-1).
But Manchester had no time to doubt: the scorer was 4-2 after a fairly exciting first half. The final victory with a score of 5-2 allows United to qualify for the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
A derby could have been on the horizon, but the team will find Tottenham at this stage of the competition: Spurs beat Manchester City 2-1 yesterday.
