Big scare this Monday morning for the 471 students of the Anatole-France college in Tours, confined more than an hour after the intrusion of a student carrying “a gun”.
In any case, this is what this passerby thinks he sees, who immediately raises the alarm. It’s 8:35 a.m.
Immediately, the management of the establishment triggers the PPMS (special security plan) in order to confine the students and staff to the classes.
Warned at the same time, the police dispatched a team to secure the premises and remove any doubts. After a search of the bags, a BB gun was found in the belongings of a student matching the description given in the testimony.
Around 9:45 a.m., the alert was lifted, and the students gathered in the courtyard of the establishment around the principal, who reassures them.
“The student in question is not known to be a problem student. He is currently in the headteacher’s office, along with his family, for punishment,” specifies Christian Mendivé, academic director services of theNational Education of Indre-et-Loire, reached by telephone.
At 10:05 a.m., or 1 hour 25 minutes after the start of the alert, the special safety plan was officially lifted and the students were able to resume classes.
