Clémence Rougier lights up the Limoges international athletics meeting

And the young and promising local Clémence Rougier improved her personal mark in the triple jump, signing the second best world junior performance of the year!

A graduate of Limoges Athlé, Clémence Rougier, 19, a triple jump specialist, for a time cherished the dream of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. But the imposed minimums of a jump of 14.55m left her with few illusions, she whose best mark, established in 2022 at the European Cadet Championships, was 13.72m. She also admitted this winter that she was thinking more about Los Angeles 2028.

Her performance this Saturday won’t change her mind, but it remains exceptional nonetheless!

With a good jump, a triple jump in fact, measured at 13.83m, Clémence shattered her record, signing in the process the second best world junior performance of the year! An excellent omen before the junior world championships which will take place this summer in Peru, and which constitutes his real goal.

The icing on the cake, she won the competition in front of athletes, like the Bahamian Charisma Taylor, who will participate in the Games, at least in 110m hurdles.

I beat my record, in Limoges, I won the meeting, in front of my friends, in front of my two coaches, frankly, it was a great evening, and I am frankly happy with the performance I did, even If I could have looked further today, but I’m really happy.

The presence of the Bahamian at this fifth meeting organized by Limoges Athlé clearly demonstrates its rise to power, which is now internationally labeled.
