A young Moroccan man was killed and two other individuals – a Tunisian and an Egyptian – were injured during an altercation in Garibaldi Square, Porto Sant’Elpidio, Italy.

A tragedy in Porto Sant’Elpidio. On Friday, a Moroccan man in his twenties was seriously injured during an altercation in Place Garibaldi and lost a lot of blood. The newspaper Corriere Adriatico suggests serious injuries to the abdomen and thighs. The attack occurred around 4 a.m., the newspaper reports he Resto del Carlino. Alerted, emergency services arrived at the scene of the attack and tried to save the young Moroccan, but he died of cardiac arrest before reaching the hospital. Other individuals are also among the victims of the attack. An injured Tunisian national was hospitalized “with a guarded prognosis of thirty days”. An Egyptian was slightly injured.

The police are carrying out an investigation to elucidate this attack. Already one individual arrested. He is a 34-year-old Moroccan. For the moment, the reasons for the attack remain unknown. According to some residents, this escalation of violence appears to be the direct result of rivalries for control of territories and drug distribution points, thus fueling a cycle of violence that is difficult to dissolve.
