Tangier was shaken yesterday, Saturday June 1, 2024, by the discovery of a heinous crime, after the city’s security services announced the discovery of the body of a person who died in mysterious circumstances in 2018, found in a wall of his apartment located in the Tanja El Balia district.
The crime, obviously committed by the victim’s own family, caused a strong wave of shock among the residents of the building where the apartment is located, in which the body of the victim, a fifty-year-old, had been buried. He lived there with members of his family, who were arrested by the Tangier judicial police brigade. A judicial investigation was opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the circumstances and motivations of this act.
According to initial information from the investigation, the discovery of the man’s body was made purely by chance during the preliminary investigation carried out with his wife and four children, who were arrested for a case of possession and trafficking drugs and psychotropic substances. Strong suspicions had been raised about the disappearance of the husband in suspicious circumstances and the supposed criminal motives surrounding the case.
After a more in-depth search of the family home, and the destruction of a wall whose botched construction seemed suspicious to the police, the body of the father of the family was found and extracted from the concrete behind which he had been for six years.

According to the security services, the body of the victim, which was in an advanced state of decomposition, was deposited at the morgue for an autopsy aimed at determining the cause of death and revealing the true circumstances of death. Meanwhile, his wife and children were placed in police custody as part of the judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to understand the circumstances surrounding this case.
The neighbors, stunned by this news, still cannot believe it. They say they remember an ordinary family, known and respected in the Tanja El Balia district. Their good reputation makes their arrest even more mysterious, because no one suspected anything in their entourage.
