This June 1, many regulatory and legislative changes come into force. We take stock of these changes which will impact the daily lives of the French.

Increase in gas prices

This June 1, gas prices will increase again in France. An increase of two euros per MWh on average over one month.

Thus, the increase will be +2.3% of the average benchmark price excluding tax, going from 75.76 euros/MWh to 77.62 euros/MWh and 1.8% of the average benchmark price including tax which goes from 111.19 euros/MWh to 113.19 euros/MWh.

Parcoursup follows its progress

Since May 30, students have received notices from establishments regarding their wishes. At the same time, they will have to confirm their choices or wait for places to become available, all within the limits of the dates set for each of these wishes.

Please note that students who have not received admission offers can formulate new wishes from June 11, 2024.

New mandatory addresses

The “differentiation, deconcentration and simplification” law (3DS) of 2022 comes into force on June 1. From now on, all roads in France must have a name and each home have a unique number. The aim is to simplify the deployment of optical fiber, emergency response and even mail distribution.

Deadline for filing taxes

This June 6 will mark the deadline for declaring income taxes for the last departments, those from 55 to 976.
The other departments have already passed the deadline. It was set for May 21 for paper income tax returns, May 23 for residents of departments 1 to 19 and May 30 for departments 20 to 54.

My Psy Support is expanded

Until now, the attending physician could prescribe a maximum of eight annual psychological support sessions. They were covered by Health Insurance to the tune of 30 euros.

From June 1, the Mon Soutien Psy system is evolving. The reimbursement of sessions increases to 50 euros, the number of sessions reimbursed also increases from 8 to 11 and, finally, it is no longer obligatory to go through the treating doctor to have these sessions prescribed.

Pass’Sport

The Pass’Sport, this aid system of fifty euros allowing you to finance registration in a sports structure, can be used from June 1st under certain conditions compared to September 1st until now.

This system concerns young people aged 6 to 30 who meet certain criteria and in particular be beneficiaries of the back-to-school allowance, the education allowance for disabled children or even assistance for disabled adults.

More than 85,000 establishments are partners in France. It can be used until December 31, 2024.

Simplification for doctors

In order to free up doctors’ time, pharmacists will be able to issue antibiotic prescriptions for the treatment of tonsillitis and cystitis. Opticians will also be able to adjust the correction of the glasses if it no longer corresponds at the time of the test.

The objective is to “regain 15 to 20 million medical appointments each year”.
