In Lendou-en-Quercy, the inter-territory day of 1,000 hands in the dough is approaching

On the sidelines of the 1,000 hands in the dough departmental action which takes place on the first Saturday in October, a day of inter-territory participatory work for the promotion of the path to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle (GR 65) is organized every year. The next one will take place in Quercy blanc on Saturday June 8, in Lascabanes, in the town of Lendou-en-Quercy.

The construction site is located very close to the village, near the site of the very emblematic gariotte located on the route of the GR 65 and regularly maintained and developed by the volunteers of the 1,000 hands in white Quercy dough. Reassembly of walls, moss removal and brush clearing are on the schedule for June 8.

This day is open to all volunteers, young and old, brush cutters or builders, simple supporters or active players. All good wishes are welcome, even at the last moment. You are required to register in advance and arrive on June 8 from 8:30 a.m. at Place des Pèlerins in Lascabanes, where coffee and pastries will be served to participants who are invited to bring their work tools.

An exhibition and a botanical walk

Alongside volunteers from the Quercy blanc association, other associations from the different territories of the department will be present: Lalbenque-Limogne, Grand Cahors, Figeac and Rocamadour. The picnic will be taken from the bag at noon and a small snack will accompany the debriefing at 5 p.m. As a bonus and optional: a visit to the children’s exhibition at the Montcuq leisure center in the Lascabanes village hall and a botanical walk on the GR 65.

From a few hours to the whole day, everyone can participate in this rewarding action, in good humor, a sense of sharing, and the satisfaction of a work accomplished in the interest of the greatest number.
