French cinema is in mourning. This Monday, October 21, Christine Boisson died at the age of 68, from a lung disease, announced her daughter, Juliette Kowski, to AFP. Despite the success she had in front of the cameras, the actress had a complicated childhood. In 2013, three years after her suicide attempt, she agreed to speak on the subject in the columns of Gala. Indeed, in 2010, the one which was revealed to the general public in Emmanuelle de Just Jaekin, tried to escape. But contrary to what was said in the media, Christine Boisson never wanted to jump. She was trying to do “suicide blackmail” to the man who shared his life. A behavior that her mother exhibited throughout the actress’s childhood.
“I’m not very proud of my actions, but if I got to this point, it’s because my mother spent her time blackmailing me into committing suicide,” she shares Gala. Indeed, she says that she grew up with a sick mother who abused her and who threatened her children with “fuck up” if they didn’t do what she wanted. She kept telling her daughter that she almost died giving birth to her. “Today (in 2013, editor’s note), she is suffering from senile degeneration with acute paranoid attacks which make her dangerous for herself and for others,” explains Christine Boisson. “She always carried this disease within her.”

Christine Boisson: that day when she came close to death
If after her suicide attempt, Christine Boisson explained that she was trying to “suicide blackmail”, she still came close to death that day. Aged 54, the actress threw herself from the fifth floor of her apartment in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. If she managed to escape, it was because she was detained at the last minute by police officers present on site. In fact, it was the cries of his loved ones that alerted the officers stationed in front of the police station located down the street. The arrival of the police prevented the scene from turning into a tragedy. Christine Boisson was then hospitalized, she will explain her actions much later.
