Two people, Johanna Berger, the manager of the Val de Sarthe campsite, and Harm Nuijen, for maintenance, were at the service of the tourists. “Among other things, we chose them for their language skills. Between them, they spoke French, English, German, Dutch and Spanish,” informed the municipality.
A passing campsite on the road to the south

The advantage of this campsite is its ideal location on the banks of the Sarthe, far from roads and other sources of noise. It is also a privileged stopover between Great Britain, Holland and the south of France. Fishermen and people looking for a quiet place not too far from the forests and the city of Le Mans like to stop there and have often returned for years.
4,800 campers in 2024
From April to the end of September 2024, 4,800 visitors spent 7,600 nights there, which represents an occupancy rate of 32%. Concerning the distribution by nationality, we find the French in the lead with 47%, followed by the English and the Dutch equally with 22%. The campsite has also seen Croatians, Czechs, Chinese, Australians and Swedes pass through. The tents were rented at 22% of their capacity and the bicycle accommodations were very popular.
By continuing our efforts, we are counting on a great season next year. With the three campsites in our territory, we play the card of complementarity. Our asset is calm in a privileged location,”
