F3 – Not a good day for Montceau at Viriat

Montcellian Hugo Genieux could be absent from the field until January.

Even the best have a bad day, a moment when when you set foot on the ground in the morning, you’re not feeling well. The problem in a team sport is when this discomfort affects the whole group. “Sunday in Viriat, we were not having a good day” says coach Benjamin Fourier who watched helplessly as RCMB lost 48 – 24.

“The defeat was deserved, the team was unrecognizable, we tried everything but nothing worked,” he adds.

However, the Montcelliens started the match well but in the second half, the drop in activity was clear. “We were less aggressive and we got into trouble,” he admits.

This trip to Ain, the RCMB had checked it, is on the agenda to achieve a result. However, “we leave empty-handed, with a defeat and a headache” declares Benjamin Fourier.

To this, it must be added that big dark clouds are hovering over the club with the muscular injuries of Pierre-Luc Chandat, Yannick and especially Hugo Genieux. “He injured his shoulder and might not return before January,” specifies the coach. When we know the importance of his influence on the Montcellian game, this is certainly not good news.

The coming week should allow the Montcellians to put their heads back together to prepare for the trip to US Arbois. “There, victory is imperative” announces Benjamin Fourier dryly.
