Did you know it? Before finding success, Zaho de Sagazan worked in EHPADs as a care assistant for a year. A work that the singer, who seduced with her performance at the opening of the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, describes as “one of the most beautiful experiences of [sa] vie”which allows her to fully appreciate the incredible success she is experiencing today. With his usual frankness, Zaho de Sagazan explained in Seven to eight this Sunday, October 20,: “It’s pretty much the opposite of my job [de chanteuse]. Now that it’s working, I earn a lot of money, I’m applauded every day, people say thank you to me all the time…” A real joy for the artist, which nevertheless raises a contradiction in his eyes.
Indeed, for the sensitive young woman, the consideration she enjoys today seems “much too much” : “When I look at a caregiver, I tell myself that there is no reason why I should be more considered than her.” Because if Zaho de Sagazan considers his former activity as “one of the most beautiful jobs in the world”she is also particularly well placed to understand its difficulty: “I gave so much, all my energy, to wash Mr. Anybody’s butt, for the smile of just one person…” An experience which today allows the young artist to overcome all the difficulties and to have a real perspective on the efforts she must make in her new activity: “When I go on stage, it’s a piece of cake!”
Zaho de Sagazan: this experience that she is still waiting for
Zaho Mélusine Le Monies de Sagazan – his real name – is nevertheless not always comfortable with the consequences of his success. In an interview with Marie-Claire, she expressed without taboo her difficulties in making her first album, while explaining that she had a hard time with her notoriety. Firmly determined not to lose herself in the glitter of success, the young woman moved to Nantes, sharing accommodation with her best friend, in order to preserve her daily life and her links with her loved ones. Has Zaho de Sagazan found the perfect balance? Almost. In an interview with Tele-Leisurethe singer confided that she still had one more experience to live: “I’ve never experienced love, and it’s still something I’m waiting for…”
