After her Olympic title in in July, Cassandre Beaugrand was crowned triathlon world champion this Saturday during the final event of the WTCS world circuit in Torremolinos in Spain, confirming her status as a star of the discipline.

Confirmation after consecration. Olympic triathlon champion in Paris last summer, Cassandre Beaugrand established her domination in the final event of the WTCS world circuit in Torremolinos in Spain.

The 27-year-old Frenchwoman, undefeated this season during the World Triathlon Championships Series, makes history by being the first French world champion in history.

She succeeds the British Beth Potter, world champion in 2023 and second in the Torremolinos triathlon ahead of the French Emma Lombardi.

A big scare while swimming

Proof of the enormous margin that Cassandre Beaugrand has over her opponents when she is in full possession of her physical means, the Frenchwoman won despite a huge mistake.

At the start of the swimming event, she took the wrong trajectory, which cost her to close the first lap in 30th place. Thanks to a superb finish, she managed to come out of the water at the gates of the top 10, around fifteen seconds from the lead.

She finally caught up on her bike, before taking her distance by running. Largely dominant, she was able to treat herself to a lap of glory to celebrate her performance.
