Longages. Pétanque: during Women’s Day in Dardilly

Sunday was Women’s Day in Dardilly where the women’s teams met. A double F3 team defended the colors of the Longagian ball. From Sunday morning the women: Nathalie Quilès, Anaëlle Maitrot and Anne Lise Maitrot played and won their first two group games. In the afternoon we had to win the 3rd game to be 1st in the group and be sure of playing in the semi-final. Without trembling, all three of them managed to win this game by combining strategy, change and support.

At 4:30 p.m., the semi-final began. We had to win an F2 team which had also just won their three group games. With seriousness and concentration, everyone held their place and the team managed to gain the upper hand and win this semi-final.

Here they are in the final of the competition on a stage of honor in front of a hundred spectators who were cheering on the finals of all the F1, F2, F3 and F4 categories. At 6:30 p.m. the game begins. This 5th game was decisive. The tricky outdoor terrain forced the girls at each end to point and shoot as best as possible. After an hour, a gap of 5 points was made but we could not let up the game. At the end of the time, the goal kick allowed the Longages team to win this F4 final.

Happy the Longagiennes returned to their South-West in the evening and promised to return next year!
