This is a game of chance and tragic correspondences that could inspire Claude Lelouch for a saga of which he has the secret. From June 1 to 5, 2016, the 31st European Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships took place in Bern. The young French director, based in Switzerland, Elie Grappe was there to search for the muse of his first feature film which will become Olga, released in July 2021. He spotted Anastasia Budiashkina in the Ukrainian national team. An outstanding gymnast, a character in his face, long dark blond hair, rare blue wolf eyes. He follows her to Ukraine to cast her, and, there is no doubt: it is she who will play Olga in his film. The fictional synopsis recounts the sporting and political battles of a young Ukrainian gymnast who took refuge in Switzerland during the Maidan revolution, who tries to invent a new life for herself. The film was a success in theaters, it received numerous awards and was selected to represent Switzerland at the Césars.
