: Isabelle Huppert awarded the Lumière prize

Two days before the closing ceremony of the Lumière Festival, Isabelle Huppert received the Lumière prize this Friday, October 18, at the Palais des Congrès in .

“I was told that the Lumière prize was special, but it is far above what I could have imagined, and yet, I have a lot of imagination” here are the words of Isabelle Huppert, following the presentation of her Lumière prize, yesterday evening at the Palais des Congrès in Lyon.

Strong words marking a ceremony rich in emotion, punctuated by speeches, retrospectives, screenings and concerts, ending with the presentation of the Lumière prize to the French actress. A trophy which adds to his already well-furnished collection of a Golden Globe, two acting awards, and two Césars.

Known for her roles in Elleby Paul Veroheven, Eight Women by François Ozon, or even, The Ceremonyby Claude Chabrol, Isabelle Huppert succeeds filmmaker Wim Wander, 2023 Lumière prize. “For 50 years, Isabelle has inspired us” ; “She is a silent voice against an anguish that is ours” ; “You move me, you inspire me, you are free”words spoken by the organization and those close to the actress, such as Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron, during this 2024 ceremony.

The festival continues

The awards ceremony has now passed, but the festival continues until Sunday. Among the highlights of this weekend, film concerts, a masterclass with Alexandre Aja, or even a machon to end in style this 16th edition of the festival dedicated to the seventh art. The closing ceremony, for its part, will take place on Sunday October 20 at 3 p.m. at the Halle Tony Garnier.
