A Lebanese drone was launched towards the private residence of Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea, his services indicated, this Saturday, October 19.

INTERNATIONAL – The house was empty. A drone fired from Lebanon was launched towards the private residence of Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea, located north of Tel Aviv, the Israeli Prime Minister’s office said this Saturday, October 19. No injuries were reported.

“The Prime Minister and his wife were not there and the incident caused no casualties”Benjamin Netanyahu’s services said in a statement.

Projectile barrage in northern Israel

Earlier, the army announced that a drone coming from Lebanon had hit a « structure » from this coastal town in central Israel. A total of three drones entered Israeli airspace this Saturday morning, the IDF said, and two of them were shot down.

On Saturday morning, northern Israel was also the target of a barrage of projectiles launched from Lebanon and alert sirens were activated in several towns.

On the front lines of the war between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah, two people were killed Saturday in an Israeli strike which targeted for the first time the highway linking Beirut to northern Lebanon, the Health Ministry said. According to the National Information Agency (Ani), “three rockets targeted a car (..) in which a man and his wife were on the highway”.

Strikes in Lebanon and Gaza

Ani said the two people in the car escaped and took refuge in a wooded area along the road, before being targeted and killed again.

After the disappearance of Hamas leader Yahya Sinouar, Benjamin Netanyahu declared that his death marked “the beginning of the end” of the war in Gaza, and several foreign leaders have expressed hope that it will pave the way towards a cease-fire.

But strikes in the Palestinian enclave already seem to have resumed. Gaza health authorities on Saturday accused the Israeli army of surrounding and bombing the Indonesian hospital in Beit Lahia, in the north of the territory, injuring more than 40 people.
