The president of Toulouse, Damien Comolli, spoke on Wednesday of a “moral agreement” for the departure of Thijs Dallinga, the star striker of the Ligue 1 club who also wishes to extend the contract of his coach Carles Martinez Novell.

“We had a moral agreement since the start of the season and if the prices are right we will let him go”said Damien Comolli at a press conference regarding Dallinga (23 years old), sixth top scorer in the championship with 14 goals (19 goals in all competitions).

“He is in high demand and we have already refused very important offers in January for him”he added. » We let the market come to us so we don’t give prices. We already have approaches numbering in the tens of millions and it’s only May.”

Logan Costa also leaving

Arriving anonymously in Toulouse in the summer of 2022, from the Dutch club Excelsior Rotterdam (D2) for a sum estimated at 2.75 million euros, Dallinga had already had an excellent first season with 18 goals all competitions combined, including six during the epic Coupe de France won against Nantes in April 2023 (5-1).

Having become an international, Dallinga, under contract with Toulouse until 2026, is however not part of the list communicated by Ronald Koeman with a view to Euro-2024 in Germany.

Central defender Logan Costa (23) also benefits from an exit voucher. Also linked until 2026, the Cape Verdean international had an excellent African Cup of Nations which aroused the desire of many clubs.

While the Toulouse leaders surprised their supporters at the end of last season by parting ways with Philippe Montanier just a few weeks after the success in the Coupe de France, Damien Comolli this time decided to “propose an extension” to his successor Carles Martinez Novell whose team finished in 11th place in the championship.
