Tuesday May 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., an entire day will be dedicated to caregivers at the Yssingeaux hospital center.
It is clear that the number of people caring for a sick or disabled loved one is constantly increasing. It’s a real tsunami that shakes the entire family and even friendly sphere. Little by little, the isolation of the caregiver-care recipient core becomes apparent, the situation can then very quickly get out of hand and become critical. The mental load is such for the caregiver that physical and psychological exhaustion quickly manifests itself.
Our department is not spared, quite the contrary. The rural nature of our territory only amplifies the difficulties linked to care. This is why this day is not only necessary but crucial. Numerous professional stands will be present to discuss each person’s situation in order to find all the solutions to help care for the patient.
A friendly moment will follow around a drink. The possibility of having a meal on site, in common and if the weather permits on the terrace will be offered (€8.50 by reservation at 04 71 65 77 00).
After a coffee, from 10 a.m., a forum theater “Would you like to pitch with me” will be offered followed by an exchange around the relationship issue with Lionel Ales (actor) and Valérie Rieu.
Then more specific actions will follow, such as a strong and emotional moment devoted to testimonies from caregivers. Not so easy to put words to difficulties and suffering that are often overlooked. The idea is to send messages in order to cause an “electroshock” and gain their trust in order to best ease their daily lives.
After lunch, sophrologist Anne-Marielle David will offer different exercises around the theme “How to deal with stress”. Finally, Laurence Allemand (UDAF) and Émilie Vu-Van (Malakoff Humanis) will end the day with an update on legal protection measures and possible assistance from complementary health insurance.
