Wednesday October 16 from 3 p.m., 45 firefighters, mainly from Concarneau and , intervened in Trégunc, route de Pont-Aven, for a fire in a building of the Terre de L’Ouest cooperative, formerly Clal -Saint-Yvi Cornouaille, near the Gamm Vert store.

The fire broke out at the building’s fuel oil dryer, dating from the 1980s. Due to the proximity of five silos containing 25 to 30 tonnes of buckwheat, a very flammable material, the firefighters carried out overnight Thursday to Friday, site surveillance until 3:30 a.m., via shift rotations. The flames nevertheless caused the loss of €35,000 of raw materials, without spreading. Three vans, a large ladder as well as a vehicle dedicated to chemical risks have been deployed, in addition to an ambulance nursing station, in order to monitor all risks, indicate in particular our colleagues from Ouest-. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. This Thursday, the Gamm Vert store was able to open normally. The dryer was also emptied.
