This Tuesday, October 15, 2024, a dispute between a cyclist and the driver of an SUV degenerated in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. The motorist hit the 27-year-old cyclist again and ran over him on Boulevard Malesherbes, near Place de la Madeleine around 5:45 p.m.
The driver accompanied by his daughter
The victim died despite the rapid intervention of emergency services, we learned News17. The 52-year-old driver was taken into custody. He was accompanied by his teenage daughter at the time of the incident.
According to initial information, the driver of the SUV cut the cyclist off. The latter allegedly knocked on the hood of the car and the tone rose between the two men. The motorist then drove off again, driving over the victim.
Passersby performed first aid procedures on the cyclist, such as cardiac massage. Firefighters, who arrived later, tried to save the man without success. “It was a bloodbath. We did cardiac massage to try to resuscitate him. The firefighters took over quickly, but they couldn’t do anything”says a volunteer firefighter.
