Lhe Federal Minister of Mobility Georges Gilkinet (Ecolo) awarded a “red card” to his Flemish counterpart Lydia Peeters (Open Vld) on communication around the work at the Léonard crossroads, on the Brussels ring road.

According to the environmentalist minister, Ms. Peeters “forgot to put the issue on the agenda” of the Interministerial Mobility Conference, which nevertheless meets every week.

“Some try to point out the responsibility of the three environmentalist ministers of Mobility, but it is that of the fourth, in this case, liberal. I don’t want to overwhelm him because we worked well together. But here, it is she who is responsible,” he pointed out on Sunday, on the set of the show “Rendez-vous” on RTL-TVi.

Georges Gilkinet also highlighted a point of the Ecolo program: free rail for under 26s. “Public transport in Brussels is one euro per month for young people (under 25, Editor’s note), an environmental measure, the same in Wallonia. We want to do the same thing for the railways. These are measures that allow better mobility and calm the city. »

And added: “When the cars we could do without are no longer on the road, that leaves room for those who need them: the elderly, professionals, etc. »
