In a press release, the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture alerts about a deterioration of the weather from next night“with a rainy-stormy passage which crosses the entire Provence-Alpes Côte d’Azur region. The rain-storm line shifts in the second part of the night to the PACA region and reactivates upon arriving in the east of Bouches-du-Rhône“.
Eastern Bouches-du-Rhône affected by a rainy-stormy episode
It is announced “significant intensities from the east of Bouches-du-Rhône to the Alpes-Maritimes with 40 to 50mm locally in a very short time, gusts up to 70-80km/h and moderate electrical activity. These significant intensities will concern towns on the coast, particularly from the Var coast to the Côte d’Azur, before evacuating in the morning inland, losing intensity.“insists the prefecture.
“We will note significant uncertainties in the east of Bouches-du-Rhône, on the edge of the most significant storm activity, with in particular the city of Marseille which could also be affected by these heavy stormy showers” add the state services.
This alert comes a week after the strong storm which hit Marseille on October 8 early in the morning and caused major traffic jams at the entrances to the city, but also damage to the roadway.
It should be noted that Occitanie and Gard in particular are affected by a Cévenol episode.
