We learned of the death of Christiane Barthélémy, which occurred on October 11, 2024, after a few days of hospitalization.
Christiane was born in 1938. Her father, Marcel Dominioni, was a delegate of the Val de Fer miners and deputy of the deputy Henri Grouès, Abbé Pierre. This world where she grew up and her close proximity to her father made her aware of social action very early on.
Christiane married Henri Barthélémy in 1958. Together they built their house. In 1963 Lydie was born, with whom she had two granddaughters whom she cherished. She took in her sister and her baby for several years, took care of a very seriously ill neighbor…
In 1977, she joined the town hall of Chaligny. She will be the indispensable and discreet assistant there. Creator and kingpin of the canteen, she also delicately and efficiently organizes municipal ceremonies, blood donations, meals for the elderly and supports the most deprived. Strongly affected by the death of her sister in 1994 and her husband in 2002, she nevertheless continued her work in the service of others. In March 2023, very physically disabled, she had to leave her home for the Sainte-Enfance EHPAD.
Her kindness and dedication as deputy to CCAS and social affairs for 43 years, her concern for the well-being of her fellow citizens more than her own, have made her a loved and esteemed figure in the town.
