Laval – Olivier Frapolli after Guingamp (0-1): “It’s great to see a team that has nothing to play for so stripped down”

A season with two faces ended this Friday, May 17 for Stade Lavallois, which was at least able to confirm its status as a difficult team to maneuver away from home. On the Guingamp lawn, Laval won by the smallest of gaps (not without success) thanks to the only goal from Amin Cherni (0-1), who finished very well with two goals in as many matches. On the website of the newspaper Ouest-France, we can read this Saturday the coach’s reaction Olivier Frapolli after this success which does not entitle you to much all things considered, but which validates a very good Tango season in League 2 despite the slide in the ranking at the end of the year.

“Finishing seventh is a performance. The club’s best ranking for twenty-five years. It was a match like those we experienced during our good period, with a touch of success. They hit the post, Mamadou Samassa makes an exceptional save… We played pretty well, even if we had few chances in the first half, but neither did they in the end. It’s nice to see a team that has nothing to play for so stripped down. I am proud to have mentored this group. Teams had more attractive games, but had fewer points than us. Laval is a place where you get wet. We will see what the president will ask of us now next season. Between first and sixth, there aren’t many possibilities left. I am under contract for one more season. We meet on Tuesday (with President Lairy, editor’s note), there will be no problem. »
